Antofagasta, september 2014.- The Universidad de Chile idol, Diego Rivarola, demonstrated that he is the star of football tennis. On a new date of the FTA Tour World Circuit which took place on September 12, 13 and 14 in the II Region, the argentinian won the Caja Los Andes Antofagasta 2014 Talents Tournament, where he participated together with Cristián Basaure.
88 double teams formed part of the competition, where they fought to win the grande finale and achieve the 60 points given to the champion of the FTA Tour World Circuit, as well as US$1500.
The Sony team of Diego Rivarola, present number two of the world, and the ex Palestino, Santiago Morning, and La Serena, Cristián Basaure, were the double team number one of the championship, who managed to fight their way to the grande finale by beating idols of Cobreloa, Luis Fuentes and Juan Luis “Limache” González, in a very tight game which ended 6 to 4.
The Caja Los Andes double team of Sebastián Donoso and Francisco Allende, pre-qualified as third in the championship, will be the ones to participate in the other set of matches, who surprised the public by beating Mario Vener and Enrique Berríos on the fourth finals as well as participants, Iván Zamorano and Luis Mena.
This final, was the highlight of a brilliant day with the best football tennis. The Sony team managed to take advantage of their opponent´s fatigue during tie break, in an encounter that lasted more than an hour, finalizing with a 10 – 2 result which allowed them to win the match 7 to 6 and raise the trophy.
Now, the FTA Tour World Circuit continues with its tour on a national level, with the Caja Los Andes Puerto Montt 2014 Juniors Tournament to be disputed on the next October 31st, and November 1st and 2nd.
